Here at Spencer’s in Norwich, we offer a wide range of quality used cars from many famous marques. Each has a fascinating history, so we thought we’d pick out a few great choices available as we write this blog, but add some points of interest about the manufacturer themselves. So, here goes…

Alfa Romeo Mito JTDM-2 sprint

If the stunning black and obviously suave Alfa Romeo Mito JTDM-2 sprint takes your fancy, you might be surprised to know that the marque was named by taking the original company initials: Anonima Lombarda Fabbrica Automobili, and then adding the surname of Nicola Romeo, who took control of the business during World War One.

Dacia Duster Laureate DCI 4WD

Should you be impressed by the Dacia Duster Laureate DCI 4WD with just 18,000 miles on the clock – and we are – the name derives from a historic region whose boundaries covered much of modern-day Romania. By the way, the company celebrated its half century last year.

TVR Tuscan 3.6 Convertible

About to be added to our stellar stock is a TVR Tuscan 3.6 Convertible. In 1946, Trevor Wilkinson, a trained engineer, purchased a wheelwright’s workshop in Blackpool and started a business called Trevcar Motors which undertook a range of general engineering activities. Renamed a few years later, it soon produced its first TVR chassis and thrives to this day as a creator of high-end sports cars.

Land Rover Range Rovers, Discoveries and Freelanders

The last of our quartet of choices here is our selection of ever-popular Land Rover Range Rovers, Discoveries and Freelanders. It’s actually 70 years ago this year that Maurice Wilks, with his brother Spencer (we think this is a great name for involvement in the automobile industry) started designing the original Land Rover, based on his farm in Anglesey. It was influenced, so close to the war, by the design of the Jeep. Early light green colours were mainly chosen because of the availability of plenty of aircraft cockpit paint.

Just four of the so many superb used cars ready for viewing here in Norwich. To check out those mentioned – and all the others – simply click here.
